Windows Phone 8.1 is dead which is a big shame. Very bad support from Microsoft. We have so many good phones with great hardware but still stuck with the dead WP 8.1.

I have Lumia 650. I never use Xbox and Groove amongst many other apps. Despite having a 32Gb memory card which is only 30% full the 14 Gb phone memory is critically full. I must delete unused apps but I am not allowed to do so. Any help shall be much appreciated. Thanks

it's sad how windows phone died tbh, I really liked my Lumia 635 in early 2015,used it for most of that year, but due to the lackluster apps and lack of apps in general, switched to a Moto E 2015 LTE "aka moto e2" and with the 1gb ram and quadcore on lollipop OS, I could live with android again, and it's gotten better now, the $40 moto e4 is very slick with 7.1, 2gb ram, and quadcore cpu, really nice front and back cams and fingerprint scanner, but I did like alot about windows phone like how smooth it was on cheap hardware, being able to store anything on the sd card even apps, and I found so many cool bands and songs through MixRadio, it was like a free pandora/spotify. I still have my Lumia 635 around, I heard windows phone 10 was a big downgrade compared to 8.1 though, I heard 10 made many windows phone laggy. I heard back then that the nokia map app was actually better than google or apple maps and the download sizes for entire maps on the world were much smaller too.Not having snapchat and the twitch app and even 3rd party twitch apps freezing/glitching really killed it for me though, along with having to always press the manual refresh button to see new fb messenger messages, as well as the fb app being very lackluster with no reacts for example or being able to tag people, unless my apps were just glitched out bad lmao….sorry for the bit of a ramble, in short, it's sad, windows phone was my fav OS out of every one tbh, if only the apps were better and if they had the major ones like android had for example. I sometimes think about picking up a cheaper higher end windows phone that at least has flash and a front cam and trying out windows phone 10, maybe it was just people updating old low spec phones to 10 that made it lag, sorta like how I heard of people upgrading the old lumia 520's to 8.1 supposedly made them laggy back in the day. It would be cool as a challenge to try to use a windows phone as a daily driver in 2017/2018 though, I may try it lol, maybe even a super low spec 520 as a daily driver ;P

I love my Lumia 640. But it's going the way of the dinosaur. If you love old cartoons and kid shows, check out the Enigma Apps. Also Crunchyroll for anime cartoons and shows. Easyscope (Windows 10 version of Periscope), Flipboard, the Twitter app is phenomenal (fully customizable), Ringtone Maker and iHeart radio.

I have a Lumia 640 too… And I love it… Windows 10 mobile is a very beautiful OS indeed, but I can`t say the same for all of the apps. But, one of my favorite app includes My Tube!, Podcasts, Spotify, Netflix, Poki (for Pocket), Tokoboto, Advanced English Dictionary, Translator, Anki Universal, Hardfox, Uber, Kobo (I have a kindle paperwhite and I also don`t like the kindle app lol), Bookmate, Nextgen reader, Forest, Swarm, Twitter, OneNote, Microsoft To-Do, Slack, My Study Life, Money Lover, LINE messenger, Hotspot Shield, Disqus, 6Tag…
This is probably my last Lumia, but I`ll keep using it until I can`t do my important things with it. Btw, the only app I think it`s missing for me is Memrise, but since I use PC a lot, I`m sticking with the web version for now. 😛

My 950 just arrived today. Spent half a day setting it up, loading it up, then took it with me into the city, and I have to say, for 160 quid it's the best thing out there. Gorgeous to look at in every way, fast, functional, easy to learn, and the way it connects with my PC is exactly what I want.

    WP isn't going anywhere

The thing I dislike about what Microsoft did was trying to make Windows 10 Mobile look like a rip off of iPhone with the concept of the live tiles. I prefer the old app design model instead of the standard "burger menu" idea. The burger menu is an old and tacky idea. Its why I am still too stubborn to move to an android. I have the YouTube app hidden and just use the mobile website because I despise Google.

Did you known that Microsoft introduce Windows 10s. The main features of it is doesn't support side loaded apps which compel Google and others to introduce new apps to windows platform and updated it.

Yeah except for the fact that gmaps uses mobile data and you cant save offline maps like you can with windows maps it also runs so much better after the creators update since it was all under the hood updates seriously go check it out

Just stumbled in here by random.  Useful video, thanks for some of the suggestions.  I have a Lumia 930 (came with WP8 but upgraded to WP10) and I love it.  Apps I have include all the MS Office apps (including a camera app that will take pics of whiteboards at an angle and straighten them), DiceBox RPG (I tried several dice rollers and this was the slickest), MS Groove (when I have a wifi link, I can play music I've uploaded from my desktop to the cloud without having to download it to the phone first), and Night Stand Clock.  Apparently the 930 isn't going to get the Windows Creators Update … unless you join the Insiders program or hack the identity; is it worth it or too risky?

I miss my WP could have been the best platform but is just to limited (or blocked ) vs the competition. Best experience than any phone that I owned, make no mistake there are more pros than cons on WP apps for example Metrotube or the windows music player (the best period ).

Too bad Microsoft is letting this OS die they need to make an effort and convince companies to make apps for it, like Google.
