This will work with an iPhone X / 8 / 8 plus and other smart phones. A 18-20x telephoto lens was attached to an iPhone 7 Plus to see if the phone could be used as a telescope. The lens is a manual focus. The focus and lens are frustrating to work with. The moon was shot in 4k and cropped to 1080p. This gives a 72 – 80 times zoom at 1080p. The iPhone 7 Plus has a double optical zoom. The telephoto lens has a 18 – 20x optical zoom. The moon was recorded at 4k and cropped to 1080p giving the total zoom at 72 – 80x optical. The video was sharpened during edit. Jupiter and its moons were recorded with the Live Photo setting of the iPhone and digitally zoomed. The timer was used to take video of Jupiter and its moons. The timer setting allows the camera to stop shaking when the picture bottom is tapped. Live Photo makes a 3 second video. The Live Picture video was slowed during edit.
