Looking for a guitar interface to run on an iPad? There are plenty on Ebay. The iRig 2 costs 34 pounds, but the earlier mark one goes for a tenner. I used that for a while when I started to learn guitar, but it went bad after a year. Now I have one by Alesis which cost me twenty in a Cash Converter. One issue with these things is the weight of the cable and object can place pressure on your iPad socket, so be aware of that. Tie the cable so it cant move!

I use ScaleBank / Chord Bank both for guitar. Economical to extend from free basic versions. But why the groans for GB guitar sounds? Lots of them are quite exciting! For the iPhone, dont forget GuitarTuna ! Outside of Gb, I love ThumbJam! And for keyboard players, PianoCompanion.

ToneBridge is the complete and FREE version of AMP Kit and ToneBridge is now fully customizable and with more options than amp kit so grab it. It is the only iOS Audio Unit Guitar amp sim as well none of that inter-app audio or Audiobus issues it just works great and sounds good, it is also available for Mac and PC as well for FREE and works as a desktop plugin.

This is why I recently came back to iPhone after years of using android. I have my killer tube amps and a quality 412 cab but want something like this so I can sit on the couch and jam without pissing off the whole house.

I'm looking for a guitar interface to run on a iPad, I'm not concerned with portability as I don't plan on traveling with it. What would be the best BUDGET either New or Used and the best one Period? Thanks

Tone Bridge app by far is the best plug in and play app.
It comes with your favorite bands already preset effect sound.

Hey! I'm deciding weather I should get bias fx or JamUp pro. I mainly play metal but I would like good clean chorus tones as well. What should I get. Since they are both the same price I am debating

Very nice review of those guitar products. A couple of suggestions though perhaps for future similar video ideas. This one was particularly focused on guitar tone altering aspects. Another idea may be from the perspective of what 5 top guitar apps to always be with you in your highly portable iOS device? Some sort of Songbook would be handy, backing tracks drum or otherwise, even utilities like Guitar Toolkit app may bump off the lower items on just an amp and effects simulator list. I completely understand though whatever apps are your "favourites" hit the list 🙂 Thanks for making great content!

I find BIAS FX really hard to use with my bass compared to JamUp Pro and AmpliTube. Lots of time when I choose a preset I just get squealing from my amp so I need to turn it down right away. I've given up on it for now and play around with AmpliTube and JamUp Pro instead.

Fun review Patrick. We really do live in amazing times for musicians. So many great synths, DAWs, guitar apps and so much more with Garageband leading the way. I would have dropped JamUp Pro because it's covered by Bias and gone with ToneStack. Yes, somewhat limited but great fun to play with and unmatched on some sounds. The Surf guitar I often use is great
