QQ equals an email address? That’s an interesting shortcut.

This is a neat little tip to setup quick shortcuts to words, numbers and, of course, emails that you use on a regular basis.

The first thing you need to go to settings, then choose my device and scroll down to language and input. Press on the cog next to the Google keyboard and then select personal dictionary. Next, choose the language that you use and then on the following screen press the plus button in the top right hand corner of the screen to add your shortcut.

On this screen type in the full piece of text you want to use and then, in the shortcut box, type in a few letters of text you’re never likely to use in a word such as ‘QQQ’.

Now when it comes to sending a text message, to quickly dump that email in the message start typing ‘QQQ’ and it will appear as one of the alternative spelling options just above the keyboard. Press it and that’s your long email entered at a fraction of the time.

Another useful Android tip that’s just a little tricky to find.

Great tip! I was wondering if there was a way that you could do something like this, and sure enough, you figured it out. Thank you.
