freezing something in a block of ice will create pressure that will push the water in … so don't do it 🙂

Dog, did it ever come back on? I tried to find a link or update and couldn't.

One test you might have done is to take it swimming. I've been in situations where someone needed help and had to dive in with everything on. There is also the risk of being soaked in a nasty storm, caught in a snow storm/blizzard, and falling into a stream or river. We started a run once when it was sunny and cool but got caught in a nasty flash storm that turned to ice. By the time we got back, we were coated in ice and soaking wet.

Thanks for the help. I'm trying to find a serious "smart" phone that can take abuse. Most don't live up to the hype.

Maybe it would have been better to freeze it first of all, before you ran over it and threw it etc. That would've ruled out water ingress that happened because of the drops

The freeze test is legit. I've dropped my phone when getting out of my vehicle which was then proceeded by a snowstorm haha

I remember the XP 3300. I handled a lot. The problem wasn't direct impact, but the sum of all the impact over time. It refused to react after about a 20 cm drop. This after about 1 year of repeated smaller drops.

I dropped mine in water and no one could hear me for about two hours until I sucked water out of mike hole. Great phone but slow tech.

The funny thing is I've owned other Sonim phones and they survived that test. I do love my xp6 though

FYI….The Sonim XP6 is not "freeze proof"? Why would you "freeze" this device if it clearly states (via specs) that it's not 24hr freeze proof? (The most senseless part of the test).
