to me front facing speakers should be standard, its common sense.  htc one easily wins

To everyone saying that putting the S4 on its back is unfair, the S4 has a single mono speaker on the back of the device, while the HTC One has two stereo speakers on the front. It's actually more fair to put the S4 on its back.

uh huh your wrong in a way. its not just beats audio. the speakers are stereo, meaning they have a right/left balance. so like if you are playing a racing game such as real racing, instead of the sound coming out of the center, you hear cars passing from the left and right. also Ive heard even without beats audio the quality is way more clear.

Well Beats is more than just software. For example it separates the headphone jack from the rest of the logic board for less interference. It does actually mandate that high quality hardware is used, not the least of which is the benefit from front facing stereo speakers. Even disabling the Beats software, there are hardware advantages. It's not the loudest, but it often "feels" like the loudest as the speakers point at you, not away.

Correct me if I am wrong, HTC One is not the loudest speaker but the one with the best quality because of the beats audio. Now beats audo is just a customized equalizer. So why don't people just find good equalizers for their phone because the HTC One is all hype, other then the awesome idea of front facing speakers.

I have no doubt the HTC has the best sound. As for video, any 1080 screen is going to be at the top end of quality, but with the G Pro's bigger screen, it is probably one of the best out there. There may be a bit of difference in color balance, but that will likely come down to personal preference. As a G Pro user, I do note that when using headphones, the phone cuts volume almost in half automatically. Just crank up the volume again, and I find it to sound fine with headphones.

S4 for sound and G Pro for the video quality. HTC is too dark and samsung display has more of blue.

S4 may be louder but no use…Its like listening from a Chinese 4n…Look at the quality, crisp, studio like sounds which come out of dose speaker's…if u hadnt beats audio on i guess it wuld have been a bit louder coz beats audio enhancement decereases the volume adding bass….

I was originally going to get the S4, but after playing around with both phones in the store, the HTC One dual front speakers sold. Absolutely fantastic.

Dude are you an iDiot? This video is all about sound not the displays quality. Regarding that since HTC One has two big speakers pointing at your face and the other two, one tiny speaker each, pointing in the opposite direction, HTC's smartphone should and delivers the best sound. It's easy as that even for a 5 year kid.
