Guess what, guys? If you own a Windows Phone device, this ad campaign was really all about you. Yes, even with the just recently announced news that there will be no 'second wave' of Windows 10 upgrades for many of the promised Windows Phone 8.1 devices.

Lmfao the irony of this commercial is remarkable. Windows Phone and Windows 10 Mobile is nothing but a Beta test!

I've got a windows phone and almost every app is in beta. I don't use Instagram but it has been in beta for a whole freakin year! I was in love with my first WP but now looking at it all, it seems like a joke.

Make no mistake – at least until Windows 10, everything related to Windows is still de facto beta. I have a Lumia 920 and I'm ready to wait until late 2015 (hoping for the best) but this is it. It's a true make or break moment, if there ever was one. You're treading on thin ice, fellas.

Irony level: 150%. I hate my Lumia 900. It was… a beta tester.

Today, Microsoft announced that Skype will cut future support for Windows Phone 7. Microsoft has not put Windows Phone 8 on Nokia Lumia 900.

    What a pile of poop.

Since the Lumia 900 was the last and best Windows Phone 7, then they aren't technically wrong. With the Lumia 900 it really WAS over, signifying the END of the Beta Test. I would still love to have one even now…with my third Lumia coming in, I'm growing quite the collection! I got an HD7, Lumia 710, Lumia 810 and now the Lumia 521 in a couple of days! =P

Microsoft just announced that they'll stop supporting Windows Phone 7.8 and Windows Phone 8 in 3rd quarter 2014. Congratulations, the beta testers they were really referring to was YOU.

google nexus owner here, no lag, fragmentation, spyware or malware here. Best phone I've ever owned personally. Also, if the whole wp7.8 (which they are refusing to release until sometime next year lol) vs. wp8 fiasco isn't fragmentation, I don't know what is.

Any product could be considered a beta test when compared to its successor.

This ad is just a piece of marketing that promotes WP7's differentiating UI that aims to make the basic features of a smart phone easier to use.

So what was Windows Phone 7, if not a beta test for Windows Phone 8, the "real" release?
