Samsung continues its nearly spotless history of delivering excellent big-screen phones with the Note 9. It offers powerful performance, a long-lasting battery and a brilliant display. Its cameras aren’t the best in class, but they still take great photos, and the new S Pen remote controls make the stylus useful for more than just doodles. This is hands-down one of the best phones of the year.

No new innovation or new features whatsoever. Only speed improvements, which is don’t really matter. Boring phone.

There's no question that $1,000 is a lot of money to spend on a phone. Yep. It sure is a lot of money. However, with the Note 9 it's worth the $1,000 value or $1,250 with the case of the monster 512 GB model. Last year when Apple rolled out the iPhone X with the base internal memory storage at 64 GB, wireless charging capabilities and face unlock for $1,000, that wasn't enough. Apple could've included a few more features especially to a phone celebrating a milestone year of 10 years. At least this year with the Note 9 the base internal memory storage is 128 GB. In addition to that a larger "All Day" battery, Samsung DeX, larger screen and a more functional S Pen. The icing on the cake is anyone who pre-ordered their Note 9 through Best Buy gets an automatic $200 deduction. That's another reason the $1,000 price tag on the Note 9 isn't and should not be an issue.

When next year 2019 arrives that'll be the milestone year for Samsung. Some BIG things will take place. Samsung will have a different approach for a milestone year than Apple with the iPhone X. Whatever was presented on the Note 9 this year will be an introduction/preview on what to expect next year for the Galaxy S10/S10+ and Galaxy Note 10 phones. These devices will be making BOLD statements across the board and drawing lines in the sand for next year. I currently have the Note 8 and I have intentions on getting the Note 10 next year.
