HTC Butterfly S Review http://www.mobilegeeks.de HTC has released a new high end smartphone, the Butterfly S and if you’re thinking that they couldn’t possibly improve on the One, think again! This smartphone is packed with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, a 1080p display, a massive 3200mAp battery and an SD card slot.

The Butterfly S currently only available in Asia, but the original Butterfly was rebranded as the Droid DNA so we might see it rebranded as the Droid DNA S in the near future.

The only thing is that I wish that it had 32gb internal, I don't know why when including a microsd slot they had to down the internal memory to just 16gb…

I'm between this and an htc one dual sim with microsd slot, both cost about the same in my country and there's a small difference in percormance I think…but that battery…

too bad it was never released worldwide, no EMEA LTE bands either
still love this phone, won't be replaced easily, certainly not by the Galaxy S4 and not even by the new HTC One M8
the snapdragon 600 still holds to its own and i can't go without the excellent battery life

This phone easily out performs the original HTC One. The battery is miles better, the sd card option is very handy. The screen is bigger, and the plastic body won't scratch or get damaged as fast as the aluminum. Trust me on this one, I love aluminum but you pay a price when you get it. Besides the plastic on HTC is solid, in no way does it feel cheap as Samsung devices.

There is no menu button, hence the 3 dots button will appear but you can make it go away by choosing the option to hold the recents apps button to work as menu button

Ew. That design is not for a flagship phone. It will fail if it's that ugly

Sense is the name of the user interface overlay that HTC designs and provides with most of their smartphones running android and formerly windows mobile. So there is Vanilla or AOSP android which is the base and would look pretty much the same on every phone. Then their are the overlays that the manufacturers use to distinguish their brands from competitors, this consist of transitions, icons, widgets, color schemes, themes, etc.

I prefer going top to bottom in app drawer. Just is much easier to flick my thumb up or down and let it roll, than to go from side to side page after page.

Htc should not rush to release this model. Shd have waited abit. Subsitute with snaodragon 800 and improved 8 ultrapixel camera. The 4 ultrapixel is so sensitive that brighter areas of photos get washed out. 4mp is just too grainy.

It was sense in the original HTC Hero that first attracted me to Android.

It's not all bad, just not to everyones taste, which is a shame as I loved simple things like T9 dialing, Web pages resizing so that the text fits on the screen when zooming in.

I always believed, as had been provided in the earlier versions of sense, an option to switch between Sense or Stock launcher, Sense or No snese .
