I'm going nuts! My Google Pixel 2 screen turned black and white and I can't for life of me turn it back to colour. Can you PLEASE help? You seem to be the most knowledgeable with this phone. GRRR.

I'm hoping someone who's really savvy with Android Oreo can help me with this situation. I recently transitioned from my iPhone 6 to a Google Pixel 2 (64 GB). I absolutely love the phone, the camera, google assistant, and smooth Android OS made me appreciate the phone choice. There is one thing, the settings with sound/display/notification makes it a bit confusing, and this is just a small troubleshooting I have, which I hope can be solved. On my iPhone I was able to get my text messages to wake the device up and show who the sender (contact) was without showing the context of the message, but remained locked. Also this could notify me on silent, vibrate, sound, or sound/vibrate…all with a visual. Also when unlocked (using the phone actively), when I did receive a text message, it would pop up on the top of the screen of who the sender is, but still have the content of the message hidden, simply showing "1 message" or "1 new message". Is there a way to do these things on the Google Pixel 2? I prefer having the "ambient on display" (showing clock and the icons that have notices) turned off for saving battery. If someone has an answer, please let me know, getting new to Android.

How does one activate the hidden menu thing? It's not on by default on my phone and I can't find anything else about it.

I just placed an order for a black and white Pixel 2 XL to replace my iPhone 6s. I’ve been on iOS since the 3GS and I’ve been wanting to give android a try for some time. I’m really excited to see how it goes.
