And now for something completely different 😉 Will a smartphone survive a quadcopter drop from 50 meters, into the desert? Let’s find out. The Doogee T5 phone is designed to be very tough, especially to impact. Doogee felt so confident, that they recently asked me to send one up high on one of my quadcopters, and drop it to the ground. Find it here https://goo.gl/qU1qUp

(Before purchasing, make sure that the following frequencies are compatible with your network. For example, it won’t work with my AT&T network.)

Pros
– It is very tough, and survived drops from 30 meters and 50 meters. Water resistant too (as long as the port plugs are in place).

I've heard rumors from a lot of places that these phones you can buy from banggood and GearBest come preinstalled with backdoor software / malware that collects credit card and other personal information. I don't know if it's true or not but it was enough to keep me from buying one.

Guess you forgot that all XK products with auto takeoff, like V303, X380 & X500, require that the motors are NOT armed when you press the auto take off button. It should be bound and have a calibration done on it however. Then with props NOT spinning, you press auto takeoff and it will. Dustin Dunnill recently tested a "release mechanism" for use on drones. You mount the release mechanism to the drone along with what you are going to drop and hold onto the "Key Fob" sized 'send unit' which enables the release. That way, the ensuing drop comes off exactly when and where you want it to. So, the Doogee T5 is shock resistant, but not water proof. Interesting video. Cheers.
