Here’s a tip, be young and cute like Caty, and not over 50 when you start running.
You WILL have injuries and knee pain within 3 months of finishing couch to 5k etc. Be prepared to STOP running just when you get a routine and suffer ITBS or patellofemoral syndrome ( like me)
We’ve spent half a lifetime working hard ( not behind a desk) and our joints tell that tale..
Seeing a physio this week and resting up/ doing leg strength excercise..

Fruits digest the quickest out of all the food groups (within an hour) so it's recommend the most for a breakfast meal before a workout

Goddamn it this girl is just beautiful.
    Anyway…
I used to be able running 2 miles in around 12 mins but then i stopped running for more than a year because my heavy full 12 units science major college and work more than 30 hours a week and i had to sacrifice my physical activity, not even go to gym. I gained fats and lost my packs but then when i got back in track and follow these instructions, i am amazed!
And that mind thing, is verrrry true. I joined the army and did ruck march, waaay beyond like 2 mile runs and so painful. All the time my body wants to give up but i keep going and keep telling myself to stop in some other mins but never really stop just like you.
    Nice tips and tricks!!!
Tomorrow going to have my apft again and hopefully i could get back my 13 mins at least.

How about water? I see some people run with bottles but most don't. Do you drink a lot of water beforehand?

Just finished a mile with that advice—it really works, let me TELL YOU. 👏

It was so motivating to know that people struggle just as much as I do when running, and I’m only human, meaning I’m gonna make mistakes thinking I’m not. But when I combined all her advice into one whole while running, it really helped keep my mentality positive.

Im not a very good runner so when I start running my legs hurt really bad and it burns which makes me stop but also after I've ran a while my chest hurts badly and I feel like I'm going to pass out. Is that normal?? How do I make it stop so I can improve.

Another tip: breathe out of your nose

    – be careful with this one and if you need to breathe out of your mouth do it but it really helped me not give up.

    – also walking or taking a break is not giving up, if you need a break that bad, take it.

    – remember to be safe and have fun and don’t forget to be aware of your limits and surroundings!

Couch to 5 k is the best thing to happen to beginning runners! You can work it on a treadmill too if you’re too shy to be running about👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Oh I have a tip. Be super careful about any keys you take with you. I used to do push ups halfway through my run and I carried my keys and one time I put them down and forgot. I had to call a locksmith to make new keys for my car ;(.

It looks like you're in AZ too? But the mountains in the background look smaller than Tucson. Anyway. Your running trail looks nice. I mostly go on asphalt which is hell on the knees but I can't find a good dirt road to go on. I swear I had that same belt but I can't find it now. I have a similar belt though Adalid gear.. it has the pouch in front for my cell/keys etc and then next to it a couple of slots for small water bottles. They're pretty small but a whole lot better than nothing especially if you go over an hour. Honestly, I have to refill at water fountains to really get a good benefit from them but I suppose it depends on how long you run and how much you sweat.
