Only one is needed. If you're using Google Maps, you're hurting yourself. Waze or Nothing!

I too always end up going back to Google maps. I much prefer the interface and look but my favorite feature is lane guidance. It's really helpful to know which turn lane to be in if you have to make another quick turn after that. Another great feature is it gives you a choice of several routes and the time comparison between them, and is super easy to toggle back and forth between them. I use this a lot. If taking an alternate route is only going to save you 5 minutes, most of the time it's worth just staying on the highway. The only thing I like about waze is the bubble that shows the speed you're going and the road speed limit. But that alone is not worth me using waze. It's too busy and distracting to interact with while driving. I don't need to know about every car on the shoulder or police that are just on the shoulder working an accident or construction zone. Most are gone by the time you get there anyhow. Wish Google would incorporate the speed bubble. That would make it complete.

Do you have to be actively using Maps for the location sharing? I typically use the google maps built in the Lyft app.

Meh; I appreciate your making the video and everything that Google offers these days, but I still prefer my Garmin unit which does this and more so seamlessly via a pretty robust voice command system.

Only real thing that Google brings to the table for me is the satellite view, especially since Facebook Messenger can do the live location sharing much more fluidly/naturally.
(And yeah, Internet, say what you want about privacy concerns 'n such shit – China & Russia already have all the data of yours that they want 😝)
